Dr. Chaney is the newest addition to Brandon Eye Associates, joining the team in January 2021. She brings 10 years of Primary Care Optometry experience caring for patients of all ages in a variety of settings. She is passionate, patient-centered, and committed to achieving the best outcome for each patient. Her areas of clinical interest include contact lens fitting, surgical co-management, and ocular manifestations of systemic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. She is also certified in the treatment and management of ocular diseases such as Glaucoma and Macular Degeneration.


Dr. Chaney graduated from DePaul University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a concentration in Biological Sciences. While studying at DePaul, she was a member of Psi Chi and Golden Key Honor Societies. In 2010, she received her Doctor of Optometry degree and the Clayton Powell scholarship from the Illinois College of Optometry. After practicing for 4 years in Georgia, Dr. Chaney took part in a life-changing mission trip to Kenya. Following this experience, she decided to further her clinical education by completing a residency in Ocular Disease at Clayton Eye Center where she co-managed a variety of retinal and surgical cases and participated in two glaucoma medication studies.


Dr. Chaney is a member of the American Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association, and Hillsborough County Optometric Society. She previously served as secretary of the Lakeland Regional Optometric Association in 2019.

Personal Bio

Dr. Chaney is originally from Glenwood, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. She loves to travel and visit her family there. In her spare time, Dr. Chaney and her husband chase their two young children around town teaching them about Florida wildlife and the outdoors. When they are not at the ocean, she and her husband enjoy community outreach and volunteer opportunities. She has previously volunteered with Special Olympics and Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation, and he actively volunteers with Meals on wheels.
