Thomas VanZandt, OD

Thomas Van Zandt, OD completed his undergraduate studies at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University. Following graduation, he joined the Army and served four years.

“After I left the Army, I completed a one-year residency program with Omni Eye Specialists, a multispecialty ophthalmology group in Baltimore,” Dr. Van Zandt reports. “The program focused on pre-and postsurgical care and treating anterior segment diseases.

“Once I finished my residency, I practiced for a while in Maryland, then moved to Florida and began practicing here. In 2024, I joined Brandon Eye Associates. I currently see patients at the practice’s Brandon location.”

Dr. Van Zandt provides the full scope of care at Brandon Eye Associates. He performs general and diabetic eye exams, provides pre- and postsurgical care, diagnoses and manages eye diseases such as glaucoma and macular degeneration.

He also treats anterior segment diseases, which affect the eye’s front third. The structures there include the conjunctiva, cornea, iris and lens.
